Driver Information

The minimum age is 21 depending on the vehicle size; larger vehicles have a restriction of 25.

Licence

The driver must have held a licence for minimum of a year depending on the vehicle size. For the rental of minivans a licence must have been held for 3 years. International licences are accepted.

Endorsements

Are accepted with some suppliers if the endorsements are over 3 yrs old. Drink/drug/dangerous driving endorsements are not accepted.

insurance

Excess

Between 420.71 eur & 961.62 eur + tax depending on the vehicle size. This can be reclaimed from holiday autos according to our damage excess refund policy.

Excess waiver

This is optional and can be purchased locally, charged between 5.70 eur & 9 eur + tax per day.This waivers or reduces the excess depending on the supplier.

P.A.I (Personal Accident insurance)

This is included in the rate with most suppliers. There may be a charge on the Island of Lanzorote of 9.02 eur + tax per week - this cover is optional.

CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) & TW (Theft Waiver)

This is covered in the holiday autos rate but it may still be offered locally.

extras

Additional driver

The first additional driver is free of charge. After this there is a charge between 6 eur + tax for the duration, or 3.1 eur + tax per day depending on the supplier. Please check at time of booking.

Delivery & collection

This service is free of charge with most suppliers. You may be taken to the local office to sign the paper work. A charge in the summer season of 6.02 eur + tax each way is applicable with some suppliers. Delivery and collection is only available with some suppliers for 3 days or more.

Out of Hours

This service is charged between 18 eur + tax each way and 30.05 eur + tax each way. Suppliers must have the flight numbers. Some suppliers provide a drop box for out of hours returns free of charge.

Use of vehicle

The vehicle must not be used for the paid transport of passengers.
The vehicle must not be used to push or tow.
The vehicle must not be used to transport goods that infringe the law.
The customer must keep the documentation safe and in the car. The suppliers have the right to terminate the rental at any stage if the contract is or has been breached.
The vehicle must not be driven off road or in dangerous areas eg beaches, canyons etc.
The kilometer counter must not be interfered with.
Non-compliance with these regulations will void the insurance and you will pay for all damage.
